First long haul flight done and dusted

The flight to Singapore didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped. I think I got 3 hours sleep in the end. My back got really sore. I think I'll try taking a sleeping pill for the next long haul.

I felt a bit sorry for the lovely Indian man sitting next to me - he had to help me quite a lot (you know me, I couldn't even find where to plug my headphones in!). Luckily we got on well, cause it was a VERY COSY flight, we rubbed arms the whole way (yuk). I had a very handsome flight attendant, he was dark skinned, I'm not sure where he was from, but he was lovely :-) He even came over and had a chat to me while I was waiting to pick up my bag once we got to Changi Airport. Yes - I think he was definitely the highlight of that flight :-)

The 'supper' was amazing, it was a full meal, beef with vegies, cheese and crackers and Kapiti icecream ( the lemon cheesecake flavour - it's delicious!) With wine of course :-)

I've got kancles now :-( Even Katrina's flight socks couldn't stop it happening. My poor feet - I could barely get my shoes on at the end of the flight :-)

So my first go at being assertive was a fail! I said to the driver before I got in, 'how much'? He just looked scathingly at me and said 'I can't tell you, it's on a meter'. I felt a bit stupid, so didn't say anything else! Hmmmmm - think I need to do some work on that particular conversation lol. (Luckily he only charged me S$33 which was within the range I'd been told was okay).

HOTEL (Copthorne Kings)
It's as flash as the photos make it look - I was really impressed! I could have checked in early for S$70, but I declined because they did give me the option of using their swimming pool changing facilities to freshen up and I could leave my bag there for the day. So that worked out well.

I left the hotel on foot - and 15 minutes later was drenched in sweat and totally lost....

update to follow, I need to get ready for the complimentary shuttle to take me to the subway now :-)
